Angie Little
Angie grew up in the beautiful state of Oregon in the Pacific Northwest. She has fond childhood memories of hiking around the Columbia River Gorge and playing in the waterfalls. Hiking and playing in waterfall is still her preferred outdoor activity (though waterfalls are a little harder to come by in Berkeley). Angie moved to Berkeley to work on a PhD program, excited for all that physics had to offer. After a few years of physics research and development of The Compass Project, she realized that she was more of an interdisciplinary type of gal. She now brings together research methods from physics, linguistics, and education. And you know that when physics, linguistics, and education get together it’s bound to be a rock’n party.
If Angie could be working on anything, it would be either collaborating on curriculum design or analyzing language. Luckily, the former pays her bills and the latter will (hopefully) earn her a PhD. She is advised by professors Andy diSessa and Alan Schoenfeld.
