Abhimat Krishna Gautam
Abhimat was born in Varanasi, India. He first got interested in science and the universe outside of a few kilometers around his house at the age of 6, when his father woke him up in the middle of one night and led him to the roof of their house. At the sight of Comet Hale-Bopp, Abhimat started to get extremely excited and also extremely curious about what existed beyond the Earth. He and his family later moved to Pittsburgh, PA in 1999. A few years later still, they moved to a very small town in a very small state, better known as Barrington, RI. Along the way, Abhimat’s interest in what makes the universe work continued to grow as time increased, in what may be approximated as an exponential function.
Abhimat is currently a sophomore, intending to major in astrophysics and physics. Abhimat loves astronomy, the universe, and physics (he’s also very creative in choosing majors…). Abhimat also likes computer science, finding himself often playing around with programming, and has a great amount of appreciation for innovation and good design. He has a few other interests as well, including drawing, blogging, running, photography, and a great obsession with Apple Inc. (which some may characterize as unhealthy).
Abhimat manages a personal website, and writes a blog on astronomy.
